Psychiatric follow-up in Athens
Personalized psychiatric follow-up in central Athens. Diagnosis, pharmacotherapy and continuous assessment based on your clinical and genetic data.
Correct diagnosis, personalized treatment, continuous assessment — not simple prescription renewal.
What psychiatric follow-up includes
Psychiatric follow-up is not a single visit. It is an ongoing therapeutic relationship that evolves as your condition evolves. In the clinic, every first visit begins with a complete clinical assessment: history, symptoms, previous treatments and level of functioning. We do not rush. We do not skip steps.
What is assessed during the first visit?
During the initial assessment, we examine:
- Complete psychiatric and medical history
- Current psychiatric disorders and their severity
- Medications previously used and your response to them
- Possible genetic causes of medication intolerance or non-response through PGx
- Sleep, anxiety manifestations and physical symptoms
How regular follow-up works
Follow-up does not mean automatic prescription renewal. Each session reassesses:
- Treatment effectiveness using validated psychometric tools, such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, HAM-D and others
- Side effects that may require adjustment
- The need to add additional therapeutic or supportive methods, such as rTMS, tDCS, psychotherapy, light therapy or PGx analysis
Who is it suitable for?
Psychiatric follow-up is intended for:
- People with new psychiatric symptoms who seek correct diagnosis from the beginning
- Patients with chronic psychiatric disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder, OCD or anxiety disorders, who have not stabilized with previous treatments
- People with resistant symptoms who want to understand whether there may be a genetic reason for non-response to medication
- Patients undergoing rTMS who need integrated psychiatric follow-up during the protocol
FAQ
How long does the first visit last?
The initial assessment lasts 40 minutes, plus the time required for psychometric tools. A careful evaluation requires time.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book an appointment directly without referral from another physician.
Are online follow-up visits available?
Yes. Follow-up visits — not the first assessment — can also take place remotely via secure video call.
What if the medications do not work?
This is exactly the scenario in which Pharmacogenomics and rTMS are most relevant. We do not stop at the prescription. We look for the reason.
How often does follow-up take place?
It depends on the treatment phase. In the acute phase: every 2–4 weeks. In the stabilization phase: every 1–3 months.
My approach
“I do not treat diagnoses; I treat people. Each patient has a different biological profile, history and set of needs. The combination of clinical assessment, psychometric measurement and — when needed — genetic analysis allows treatment plans that are not based on the statistical majority, but on the data of the specific person in front of me.”
