What is telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry is not a “substitute” for an in-person visit. It is a different and equally effective form of care for many patient groups and conditions. Through a secure, encrypted video call, you can have:
- Psychiatric follow-up visits, including medication review, symptom assessment and treatment adjustment
- Psychotherapy sessions, including CBT, relaxation techniques and coping skills
- A second opinion regarding diagnosis or current treatment
Who is an online session suitable for?
Online sessions are particularly suitable for:
- Patients outside Athens who cannot travel for every follow-up visit
- People with demanding schedules who struggle to find time during working hours
- Patients with agoraphobia or social anxiety, for whom leaving home is itself a therapeutic obstacle
- People in a stabilization phase who no longer need frequent in-person visits but want continuity of care
Which cases require an in-person visit?
Some situations require physical presence during initial assessment or certain phases of treatment:
- First psychiatric assessment, for the most complete clinical picture possible
- PGx sample collection, such as buccal swab or blood test
- rTMS sessions, which require presence at the center
- Acute conditions or crises requiring immediate clinical assessment

FAQ

Yes. E-prescribing is available after clinical assessment.
Is an online session as effective as an in-person visit?
