Biography
I was born and raised in Athens. I studied Medicine at the University of Bologna in Italy and completed my Psychiatry specialty training at the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica “Dafni”, where I trained in the Emergency Department, the 18 ANO Addiction Treatment Unit and the Peristeri Mental Health Center.
Alongside my psychiatric specialty training, I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Family Systemic Psychotherapy. I hold certification in the fundamentals of neuroscience from Harvard University and specialized training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) through intensive training programs at Academy of Brain Stimulation, in the United Kingdom (London) and in the United States (San Francisco).
Clinical specializations
A significant part of my clinical experience concerns mood disorders — especially Bipolar Disorder and Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) — as well as anxiety disorders, sleep disorders and psychosomatic manifestations. I also work extensively in the therapeutic management of substance use disorders, with a particular focus on cocaine addiction.
In my clinical practice, I use modern non-invasive methods (rTMS / tDCS) and pharmacogenomic assessment (PGx), aiming for safer personalization of treatment based on each patient’s genetic profile.
